Press FAQ
What is the mission of Autónomotools?
To empower Autónomas and Autónomos by giving them tools that help them play with prices, plans and simulations for their business, and get guidance, without having to pay an adviser a fortune right away. Some feel left alone by gestors and advisors: Autónomotools gives a second opinion on how things are calculated, so they can check their own numbers and ask their advisor sharper questions.
How does Autónomotools make money?
Autónomotools is a bootstrapped project whose only source of income is individual membership, priced at €18 a year plus tax. While the membership unlocks access to all tools and guides, there are plenty of valuable resources available for free. Also, every page tool is free to use and test, with yearly income values below the SMI (around 16k Euros per year).
Are you affiliated with a gestoría, a bank or an insurer?
Autónomotools does not partner with any gestoría, and is not affiliated with Seguridad Social, the AEAT or any other public body.
Are you a tax adviser?
No. The numbers are for orientation and financial education. The calculators have been tested very thoroughly, but they can still contain mistakes, and they are not professional advice.
What happens to the figures people enter?
People can choose to keep the data in their own browser, or save them to their autonomotools.com account. The servers are located in Germany. Autónomotools adheres to a very strict and detailed privacy policy.
How many users do you have?
Autónomotools is still in the very early stages.
Who is behind it, and what are his qualifications?
Pekka Gaiser, a web developer and brand designer, autónomo in Spain since 2018 with years of experience doing his own taxes and paperwork, and a keen sense of curiosity for how systems work.
What limitations do the tools have?
Most of the tools work from this year's figures and what you type in, so anything that depends on your history is not included: losses carried forward, unusual deductions, and whatever previous years did to your situation. IVA is left out on purpose, since an autónomo collects and passes it on as a zero-result operation.
